I see this is now "in Progress." happy to beta test when it's ready. Still not using any other calendar software.

the tricky stuff with apple calendar is that we cannot manage the free/busy flag in IOS Cal or MACOS Cal meaning in the integration you have to choose whether every single event is busy or free. 
As the work is in progress have you made any decision for that flag ?
Not sure how calendly is handling it. In CAL.com they let it unassigned so it generates mistakes

Same here ! I would looooove to use Zcal instead of Calendly, but all my meetings are in my iCloud calendar…

How can zcal even compare themselves to Calendly if they don't provide means to integrate with Apple Calendar? This is 2024 and the plenty of people don't want to be a part of Google and Microsoft data harvesting any more than they have to.

Not just Apple Calendar, but also please add support for online iCal links. Any calendar software can produce public calendar subscription links that allow you to see it anywhere. This would make zcal automatically compatible with Fastmail, Yahoo Mail, and even self-hosted solutions, in addition to iCloud of course.
